Understanding dust mites and how to control them is a process. First, Dust Mites are microscopic bugs that live in your home and feed off human and pet dander (dead skin cells that are in your home). They like warm tight spaces and are typically found in furniture, beds and linens. These skin cells are pretty much everywhere.  Most of the dust in your house is actually dead skin cells. They mostly contaminate places where you spend the most time. Such as your bedroom (your bed and bed sheets), carpet, bath towels etc... So, there are many areas where Dust Mites can live and breed. These pesky bugs are not a healthy, especially for people with allergies. They can cause sneezing, runny nose, congestion and a scratchy throat. Sometimes these allergies lead to other health issues. Dust Mites also can cause wheezing for people with Asthma. So taking control of these pesky creatures is better for the overall health of you and your home.

In order to control them, a good cleaning regiment is the best way.

First, contacting a carpet cleaning company that cleans upholstery is a good step. A professional company can clean and deodorize your bed mattresses and furniture to get rid of these bugs. Also, there are carpet cleaning companies that use special solutions to remove harmful bacteria that these dust mites feed on.
